Description of: RADHA &
BUMBLEBEE Artist: Murlidhara
Dasa
After Krishna left Vrindavana for Mathura,
He sent His cousin, Uddhava, to give a message of solace for the gopis. In the background
of this art, Uddhava is reading a letter sent by Krishna, and Radharani, feeling intense separation, is chastising the bumblebee
on the flower as a messenger of Krishna. Because of Radharani's intense love (prema)
for Krishna, Krishna was always present with her and the other gopis. Lord Krishna
is the supersoul present in all living beings. By remembering Krishna in prema, Radha
and the other gopis could always feel Lord Krishna's presence at all times. This
pastime is mentioned in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, 10th canto, 47th chapter.
